Square Enix's Foamstars: Free-to-Play Launch October 4th

No More PS Plus Subscription Needed

Foamstars free-to-play announcement Square Enix has confirmed that Foamstars, their premium 4v4 shooter, will transition to a free-to-play model starting October 4th, 2024, at 1:00 a.m. UTC. This also removes the requirement for a PlayStation Plus subscription to play. Currently priced at $29.99 for PS4 and PS5, the game will be available for free download and play.

A "Legacy Gift" will be given to players who purchased Foamstars before the switch. This exclusive bundle includes:

12 unique Bubble Beastie skins
1 special Slide Board design
1 exclusive title: "Legacy"

Further details on claiming the Legacy Gift will be released soon via Square Enix's official website and X (formerly Twitter) account.
