• Story
The adventure begins in a forest near a village of Riders, where three young friends—the hero, Lilia, and Cheval—discover a glowing egg.
The trio playfully mimics the Rite of Kinship, only to be astonished when the ritual succeeds.
The egg hatches, revealing a baby Rathalos, a winged wyvern famed as the "King of the Skies." They lovingly name him "Ratha" and bring him back to the village.
Days later, without warning, the village is attacked by a monster corrupted by the "Black Blight." They manage to fend it off, but not before it ravages the town—leaving lasting scars on Cheval and Lilia.
A year passes...
Receiving a Kinship Stone from the Village Chief, the hero officially becomes a Rider. Cheval and Lilia depart the village, each following their own path. Now separated from childhood friends, the hero teams up with the cheerful Navirou and sets out on a grand new adventure into the world of hunters.
A tale of friendship and triumph awaits—ride forth into the world of Monster Hunter Stories!

Due to changes in Google Play Games, the Network Battle function was discontinued as of March 31, 2020. However, updating to Ver.1.0.2 grants access to all Titles previously earned from Battle Ranks.

- This app covers the same introductory story as the handheld console version.
- Several features from the handheld version, including certain collaboration content, amiibo support, local Network Battles, and StreetPass, are NOT available in this version.

- Battle Party QR codes from the Japanese version are not compatible with this version.
