In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, combat plays a crucial role, and having better weapons is essential for Henry's survival. After the prologue, where you're left with nothing, you'll be glad to know you can acquire the Dogwood Village Bow early and at no cost.

After parting ways with Hans, your next goal is to find a way into the wedding. You can achieve this by taking a job with either a blacksmith or a miller and proving your worth. Even if you choose not to work at the blacksmith, the job marker on your map will guide you straight to the Dogwood Village Bow. If you decide to take the blacksmith job to attend Semine's wedding, you'll also learn how to get the hermit's sword later on.

The blacksmith job is located in Tachov, just north of Troskowitz, where the prologue ends and the game world opens up. Head west out of Troskowitz, following the road as it curves north. At a point where the path splits, with a smaller road branching to the west, turn right towards a cluster of trees. This area is easy to overlook, as it blends in with the surroundings, but tucked within these trees is a small training area.

Inside the cluster, you'll find a target with arrows stuck in it. Collect these arrows for free ammunition, then move to the right side of the tree to find the Dogwood Village Bow leaning against the trunk. While you're there, grab some brew from the nearby stump and pick any mushrooms you find. Once you've gathered what you need, you can continue with your current quest.

Other Ways to Get the Dogwood Village Bow in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Alternatively, you can purchase the Dogwood Village Bow from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, but considering its proximity to the free version, it's not worth the expense. Vitek offers other, more powerful weapons, so if you're looking to spend, those might be a better investment. You can also use alchemy to collect herbs and brew potions to sell, helping you earn money for better gear.

Having a ranged combat option is invaluable, especially since the difficulty cannot be adjusted. The combat mechanics in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* are similar to the first game, and not everyone may prefer the melee style. Personally, I find ranged weapons more to my liking, making them essential for my gameplay.

If you head to Tachov to work as a blacksmith, you can save your game after forging a sword. Otherwise, continue to the miller to progress the main quest. With a ranged weapon in hand, combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* becomes more manageable.

And that's how you can get the free Dogwood Village Bow early in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.

*Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.*
