AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT: Official Confirmation Revealed

by Ellie Jun 02,2025

AMD has officially unveiled the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex 2025, marking their follow-up to the highly successful RX 9070 XT released earlier this year. Despite the anticipation surrounding this mid-range graphics card, AMD has remained tight-lipped about many details regarding its specifications and availability.

Equipped with 32 Compute Units and 16GB of GDDR6 memory, the RX 9060 XT offers a robust configuration tailored for 1080p gaming enthusiasts. Given its compact design, it’s expected to consume significantly less power than its predecessor, the RX 9070 XT, with a Total Board Power (TBP) ranging between 150-182 watts.

With half the Compute Units and lower power consumption, the RX 9060 XT is anticipated to deliver substantially reduced performance compared to the RX 9070 XT. Nevertheless, it holds promise for offering better value due to its potential affordability. Unfortunately, AMD has yet to disclose pricing or a definitive release timeline for this card.

The Budget GPU Wars Are Heating Up

Although AMD hasn’t provided specifics on the RX 9060 XT’s price point, it’s likely to fall within the same range as competitors like Intel’s Arc B580 and Nvidia’s RTX 5060, which retail for approximately $250-$300. Both these cards boast power budgets of 145W and 190W, respectively, positioning them similarly in terms of market placement.

When the RX 9060 XT eventually hits the shelves, gamers looking to invest around $300 will encounter multiple options across brands. However, should the RX 9060 XT maintain its competitive pricing, it could gain an advantage over rivals. Unlike the 8GB VRAM offered by Nvidia’s RTX 5060 and the 12GB VRAM of Intel’s Arc B580, the RX 9060 XT’s 16GB VRAM could prove advantageous as gaming requirements continue to escalate.

While further testing is required to assess its real-world performance, the RX 9060 XT’s larger frame buffer suggests it may remain relevant longer amidst growing demands for video memory. Until then, the Radeon RX 9060 XT stands as a compelling option worth keeping an eye on in the budget GPU segment.
