Battledom: Strategic Alpha Invades PC

by Violet Jan 16,2025

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his upcoming strategy game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's 2020 hit, Herodom. Developed over approximately two years by the part-time developer, Battledom represents a refined vision of his original concept for Herodom.

Battledom introduces flexible RTS combat mechanics, granting players free unit movement across the game map. Players directly target enemies and manually control siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations enhance the gameplay experience.

Players amass coins to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weaponry and no armor. However, extensive customization options allow players to equip units with various weapons and armor pieces, each impacting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.

Quarry with stones in buckets and an elevator lifting a bucket of stoneResource gathering is key to unit upgrades. Players collect resources such as wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft these items at specialized workshops, including the blacksmith and magician.

Frenken's previous title, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. This tower defense game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new character customization options, along with farm additions.

iOS users can participate in the Battledom alpha test via TestFlight. For updates and news, follow Sander Frenken on X or Reddit, or explore his other games on the App Store.
