How To Break & Repair a Broken Object in The Sims 4 Blast From the Past Event

by Nova Feb 22,2025

The Sims 4's Blast from the Past event presents players with rewarding, yet challenging tasks. One particularly tricky challenge involves breaking and repairing an object. This guide outlines a straightforward method to accomplish this.

The Ambassador toilet, a key element in completing the repair challenge.

Week 2's challenge requires raising your Sim's Handiness skill to level 2 or higher, a relatively easy feat. The subsequent task – repairing a broken object – proves more problematic due to the game's lack of clear indication of broken items. The solution? Intentionally break something.

While using the "prank" interaction is an option, it necessitates a specific Sim trait, adding unnecessary complexity. A simpler approach involves repeatedly using an item until it breaks. The Ambassador toilet, being an inexpensive adult item, is ideal for this. Repeated use (approximately a dozen times) will cause it to malfunction, thus fulfilling the "broken object" requirement. This can be done by your Sim or by having guests use it.

Repairing the broken object is straightforward once your Handiness skill reaches level 2. Simply select the "Repair" interaction on the broken item. The repair process takes a few seconds, after which the toilet will be fixed, completing the Blast from the Past challenge.
