Neowiz and Gamfs N have just released the first content update for BrownDust2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this update introduces a sizzling new experience to the game.
Onsen Training transports players to a Japanese winter hot spring, where they can engage in swordfighting battles and tackle a variety of BrownDust2-style challenges. And yes, there's even some monkey mischief thrown in for good measure, making it both humorous and wild.
BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training
This update introduces three new characters to the game. Ventana, the protagonist of the story, along with Liberta, are available as playable characters through the pickup draw. Meanwhile, Blade remains exclusive to the narrative.
The Onsen Training event story unfolds in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2. It features 30 battles, divided into 15 normal and 15 challenge modes.
The adventure kicks off with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, who is reeling from a devastating defeat at the hands of Justia, a new student. Determined to restore her honor, Ventana heads to a snowy mountain hot spring, rumored to boost physical strength. However, her training plans are thrown into chaos when she encounters the mischievous Snowy Mountain Monkeys.
She's rescued by Blade, a legendary graduate of the Kendo Club, who quickly dismisses her request to learn swordsmanship. That's when Liberta, the hot spring manager, steps in, promising to help Ventana win Blade's training.
There’s a New Mini-Game
Introducing Onsen Tile Tactics, a new mini-game where players race against time to clear tiles. The event story is divided into phases, starting with Legendary Graduate in the first week and culminating with Beyond Legend in the third week.
Players will also face off against returning and new bosses. The first week sees the return of Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss. In the third week, players will encounter the fiery Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a colossal monkey that gains strength when targeting enemies with DoT effects.
Additionally, the Guild Raid boss Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut. With no properties, Rucersingha delivers devastating attacks and requires a lot of chain stacks to defeat.
The update also brings new gear and costumes to collect. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available now through January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, available until February 13th.
