BUCK expands the award-winning animation studio with new game dev branch alongside The Electric State: Kid Cosmo launch

by Aiden Mar 27,2025

If you were as blown away by the animation in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as I was, and found yourself wondering what you've been doing with your life while studios like BUCK consistently deliver masterpieces (think Love, Death + Robots and Secret Level), you'll be thrilled to learn that this award-winning animation and design powerhouse is now venturing into game development.

BUCK has officially launched its new game development branch, BUCK Games, coinciding with the release of Netflix Games' The Electric State: Kid Cosmo. This game is intricately tied to the upcoming film, offering players a unique interactive experience within the broader narrative.

This isn't BUCK's first step into the gaming world, though. They previously released Let’s! Revolution!, a colorful roguelite puzzle game that showcases their flair for innovative design. With over two decades of experience in animation and design, and a client list that includes giants like Apple, Riot Games, and Microsoft, BUCK is poised to bring the same high-quality standards to their mobile game offerings.

ytGiven their impressive track record, it's reasonable to expect that future releases from BUCK Games will maintain, if not exceed, the quality we've come to associate with their work.

Michael Highland, Creative Director of BUCK Games, shared his thoughts on the project: “Developing a game connected to a larger world was a new challenge, and demanded adaptability and ingenuity from our team. We set out with an ambitious, unconventional vision, and our partners pushed us to make it the best version possible.”

While you wait for more from BUCK Games, you can dive into The Electric State: Kid Cosmo on Netflix. If you're interested in exploring more, check out these top Netflix games as well.
