Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Update 1

by Connor Apr 28,2025

Tomorrow marks the release of the first Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds, introducing quests that encourage players to compete for the fastest clear times. In anticipation of this update, Capcom has issued a stern warning to the community about cheating and the use of external tools. The company stated on their X/Twitter account, "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests."

Capcom's policy extends beyond the cheaters themselves. Players who participate in multiplayer hunts alongside those using prohibited methods may face consequences as well, including invalid quest completion times and the revocation of rewards for the entire party. The company advised players to be cautious and avoid multiplayer sessions with those suspected of cheating, encouraging the community to report any fraudulent activity they encounter.

The new quests will offer attractive rewards in the form of cosmetic pendants. These rewards will be distributed to all participants, with additional pendants available based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. Given the significance of these rewards, Capcom's strict stance on cheating and suspect behavior is understandable, as it aims to maintain the integrity of the competition and reward system.

The Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja, which becomes available after completing a special tutorial mission. Players are advised to head to the Grand Hub as soon as Title Update 1 goes live. For more details, check out the Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 patch notes.
