Sony Pictures has officially announced the release date for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, set to premiere in US theaters on October 29, 2025. The studio made the exciting announcement during its CinemaCon presentation, revealing it has secured worldwide theatrical rights (excluding Japan) to bring this highly anticipated adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s original work to global audiences this fall.
According to the announcement, US audiences will have the opportunity to watch the film starting October 29, while over 80 other countries are scheduled for a release on September 24, 2025. In Japan, Toho will handle the film’s release on September 19, 2025.
The Chainsaw Man movie was initially teased in December 2023 and serves as a direct continuation of the MAPPA-produced anime series that debuted in 2022. Fans will follow Denji, a young man who gains supernatural powers after making a pact with Pochita, a devilish chainsaw dog. These newfound abilities allow Denji to unleash chainsaws from various parts of his body, transforming him into the formidable Chainsaw Man.
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc introduces Reze, a key character from the original manga, and marks the return of the entire voice cast from the anime series. The film is helmed by director Tatsuya Yoshihara and penned by Hiroshi Seko.
This cinematic event is shaping up to be one of the biggest anime releases of 2025. IGN praised the series’ first season, awarding it a 9/10 in its review. For more insights into Denji’s chainsaw-powered adventures, check out the full article here.
