"Clash Royale Revives Retro Royale Mode"

by Alexis May 07,2025

Supercell continues to keep the excitement alive in its top titles, and this time, it's taking Clash Royale back to 2017 with the new Retro Royale Mode. Available for a limited time from March 12th to the 26th, this nostalgic update brings exciting rewards for players. As you climb the 30-step ladder, you'll earn Gold and Season Tokens, making your journey both fun and rewarding.

Yesterday, I highlighted how Supercell is removing Troop Training times in Clash of Clans, showing their commitment to refreshing their flagship games. Now, to celebrate Clash Royale's latest anniversary, Supercell is launching the Retro Royale Mode. Announced through an engaging trailer, this mode will transport players back to the game's launch, complete with the original meta and a limited card pool of 80 cards. As you ascend the Retro Ladder, you'll compete for exclusive rewards, making every step count.

The competition intensifies as you progress through the ranks. Once you reach the Competitive League, your starting rank will be determined by your Trophy Road progress. From there, it's all about showcasing your skills in Retro Royale. Keep climbing the leaderboard to prove your timeless prowess.

Clash Royale Retro Royale Mode

It's quite ironic that I recently discussed Supercell's efforts to keep their games fresh, only for a retro mode to follow. However, there's a clear distinction between feeling dated and embracing nostalgia. With the enticing rewards on offer, it's hard to imagine fans not wanting to dive in and experience the Retro Royale Mode.

Don't miss out on this opportunity, as participating in both the Retro Ladder and the Competitive League at least once will earn you a special badge for each.
