Shadow Milk Cookie, a formidable beast, channels otherworldly energy. His "Puppet Show" skill targets low-HP enemies, inflicting periodic damage culminating in a Grand Finale that hits all enemies and applies Taint for extra damage. Even after defeat, he transforms into a Shadow Form and continues summoning puppets.
Candy Apple Cookie wields a giant lollipop, crushing enemies to reduce their attack and defense. This attack also creates HP Shields and boosts allies' attack. His lollipop shards further amplify enemy damage taken.
Spire of Shadows introduces the Confusion and Distortion mechanics (first seen in Stage 7-4). Confusion increases damage taken by the team, while benefiting Shadow Milk and Candy Apple Cookies. The Domain of Deceit effect on certain stages reduces damage to these Cookies, adding strategic depth.
Players also join Pure Vanilla Cookie's journey to the Spire of All Knowledge, uncovering memories and secrets vital to the Cookie World's destiny. Completing this episode unlocks Bear Jelly Balloon expeditions, providing Yeast Ore and boosting Rainbow Pearls in the Trade Harbor.
A new event, Monster Menace, offers extra rewards like Soulstones and Beascuits. The Monster Menace Marathon provides additional rewards for completing a set number of stages, even after the event concludes.
