Pearl Abyss Prioritizes Independent Publishing for Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert Release Date and Platforms Still Unconfirmed
Pearl Abyss remains committed to self-publishing Crimson Desert. In a statement to Eurogamer, the developer reiterated its previously announced independent publishing strategy, emphasizing its ongoing communication and collaborations with various business partners.
A public demonstration of Crimson Desert is planned for November. Pearl Abyss confirmed that no release date has been set, clarifying that any reports to the contrary are purely speculative. A playable build will be shown to media this week in Paris, followed by a public unveiling at G-Star in November.
September investor meetings revealed Sony's attempt to secure PS5 exclusivity for Crimson Desert, potentially excluding Xbox for a period. Pearl Abyss opted for self-publishing, believing it to be the more lucrative approach.
While the final platform lineup and release date remain unannounced, a PC, PlayStation, and Xbox launch is anticipated around Q2 2025.
