Obtaining the Dark God's Violin:
The Violin is the first and story-essential Dark Instrument. It's obtained during Chapter 2, following a quest triggered by a crew member. This leads to a confrontation with the Devil Flag pirates, culminating in a boss battle. Defeating the Devil Flags unlocks the Violin, immediately testable in a 100-enemy brawl. This encounter also introduces the four Devil Flag Captains, initiating the side quest to collect all Dark Instruments.
Obtaining the Dark God's Ocarina:
Collecting 70 Devil Flags (defeating Devil Flag ships) unlocks Atali Island. Overcoming multiple enemy waves reveals the Ocarina, but a boss fight against Captain Yakuza is required to claim it.

A Pirate Rank Four and 220 Devil Flags are needed for the Saxophone. Navigating to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse initiates a battle against the Devil Flag fleet guarding Frost Island. Four more islands (Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, Glacial) must be cleared before facing Captain Shinobi. Defeating Shinobi, followed by a final, challenging battle against Zeus, grants the Saxophone. Note that the final Zeus battle is optional for obtaining the instruments themselves.
