Phase 1

The Blade Phantom materializes as a ghostly figure in a castle flooded with crimson liquid. This boss unleashes a variety of attacks, including:

  • A six-hit combo with four punches and two kicks, the second being a delayed attack.
  • A three-hit combo with two punches followed by a downward kick.
  • A four-hit combo starting with a right hook and then two kicks, ending with a leaping kick smash.
  • A three-hit combo with flashing punches, followed by a grab that needs to be dodged.

In addition to these melee attacks, the Blade Phantom can summon a giant hammer, causing red spikes to appear in front of it. If it uses a spear, be prepared for a quick throw and a teleporting smash. When wielding a blade, it engages with a swift six-hit combo. It can also disappear and dash around the battlefield before attacking.

Mastering the timing of these attacks is crucial. By parrying or dodging effectively, you can find openings to attack and deplete the Blade Phantom's stamina, setting up opportunities for a Brutal Attack. Continue this strategy until you reduce its health by about half, triggering the transition to Phase 2.

Phase 2

In Phase 2, the Blade Phantom begins with four claw attacks, followed by a spear throw from above. After the spear lands, avoid the affected area and prepare for a leaping swipe. This is followed by three greatsword slashes and a final hammer smash.

While the Blade Phantom retains many of its previous moves, it introduces new claw attacks and increases its teleportation frequency. Be vigilant for the spear thrust and follow-up, as well as the swift dual-wielding attacks. When wielding the greatsword, watch for multiple slashes culminating in a Burst Attack, signaled by a red P-like symbol on the screen. Use the Counterattack (L1/LB + Circle/B) to parry this move successfully, restoring your stamina and leaving the boss vulnerable to further attacks.

To maximize damage, attack the Blade Phantom when its stamina is depleted, and initiate the Brutal Attack just before the window closes. This strategy will help you defeat the boss more efficiently. Upon victory, you'll be rewarded with 8,640 Lacrima, Soul Eater gear items, a Shieldsman’s Ring, and Netherworld Mineral for crafting.
