Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile launch! Sign up now on iOS and Android. However, will the controversy surrounding the PC release impact the mobile version's reception?
Level Infinite, a Tencent subsidiary, is relaunching the iconic Delta Force franchise. Set for a late January 2025 release, the game offers a blend of missions and modes emphasizing tactical gameplay, marking Tencent's significant entry into the modern military shooter market.
For those unfamiliar with Delta Force, it's a long-standing FPS franchise predating Call of Duty. Inspired by the US military's Delta Force, the series is known for its realistic action, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry.
Tencent's revival is ambitious. "Warfare" mode delivers large-scale combat reminiscent of Battlefield, while "Operations" focuses on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign, heavily influenced by the 2001 film "Black Hawk Down" and based on the Battle of Mogadishu, is also planned for 2025.
The Cheating Controversy
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced criticism, primarily concerning cheaters. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, while intended to combat the problem, have been met with mixed reactions. The PC version's restrictions on certain software and hardware have drawn criticism.
Although cheating might be less prevalent on mobile, the PC controversy could still affect the game's overall perception. However, the mobile platform's inherent limitations on cheating could allow Delta Force to meet expectations.
