The 28th D.I.C.E. Awards have arrived, celebrating the pinnacle of video gaming excellence from 2024. Among the 23 categories, Astro Bot emerged as the standout winner, clinching the coveted Game of the Year award, alongside accolades for Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Technical Achievement, Family Game of the Year, and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design. This impressive sweep highlights Astro Bot's dominance and innovation in the gaming landscape.
While Astro Bot led the pack, Helldivers 2 wasn't far behind, securing four awards for Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design, Action Game of the Year, and Online Game of the Year. Both Balatro and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle also shone brightly, each taking home three awards.

Beyond recognizing the best games, the D.I.C.E. Awards honored two individuals for their significant contributions to the video game industry. The Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon the former Executive Vice President of Operations for Nintendo of America, recognizing his tenure with the company and his support for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Additionally, Insomniac Games founder and president Ted Price, who recently announced his retirement, received the Hall of Fame Award for his three decades of leadership and advocacy for video game creators' First Amendment rights.
