Hunting AI animals in Ecos La Brea: Mastering Stealth and Tracking

While seemingly simpler than hunting player characters, tracking down AI animals in Ecos La Brea requires a strategic approach. This guide provides essential tips for successful AI hunts.

The cornerstone of successful AI hunting is stealth. Utilize your in-game scent tracking; press the scent button to reveal nearby animals as icons. A crucial element is crouching, which activates a meter reflecting the animal's spook level.

This meter fills based on your movement speed. Sprinting fills it rapidly, running significantly impacts it, trotting less so, and walking fills it most slowly. Approach cautiously, prioritizing walking as you near your target.

Wind direction is critical. Downwind approaches increase the spooking rate, crosswind is moderate, while upwind offers the best stealth.

Observe the AI icons closely. A question mark occasionally appears above the icon; movement while the question mark is visible accelerates meter filling. Pause until it disappears before resuming your approach.

Expect the meter to fill before reaching the AI. Prepare to sprint once the animal flees; their speed is considerable, but sprinting allows for pursuit.

AI movement is unpredictable. Practice in open fields minimizing obstacles to maintain visual contact.

To successfully capture prey, close proximity is essential for the bite action. Once secured, drop and consume your meal, repeating the hunt until satiated.
