Discover What Awaits After Beating Avowed

by Nathan Apr 06,2025

In *Avowed*, Obsidian's latest RPG, the expansive world of the Living Lands might give the impression of endless exploration, but the main quest is actually quite concise. If you're eager to dive deeper into the game after the credits roll, here's what you can expect post-completion.

Does Avowed Have New Game Plus?

For those who relish the thrill of replaying a game's main quest on a higher difficulty with accumulated skills and gear, *Avowed* might initially disappoint. At launch, *Avowed* does not feature a New Game Plus mode. However, the community's strong desire for this feature could prompt Obsidian to introduce it in future updates or DLCs. The absence of New Game Plus doesn't mean you should shy away from replaying *Avowed*. The game's rich tapestry of choices that influence both story and gameplay makes starting a new save worthwhile, allowing you to explore different endings and character builds.

Does Avowed Have Endgame Content?

*Avowed* is structured around four main regions, a secret unnamed finale area, and a return to one of the game's major cities, which we won't spoil here. These final areas provide a challenging experience, but this challenge doesn't extend to previously explored regions, nor does it unlock new ones. Unfortunately, once the credits roll, you won't be able to see how your decisions have reshaped the Living Lands, which can be a bit disappointing.

What You Can Do After You Beat Avowed

With no New Game Plus and a lack of traditional endgame content, *Avowed's* post-game offerings might seem sparse. After defeating the final boss, you'll be treated to several minutes of animatic cutscenes that illustrate the consequences of your choices on the world and characters of the Living Lands. Once these scenes conclude, you'll be returned to the Main Menu.

From the Main Menu, you have the option to embark on a new journey with a different Envoy or reload a previous save. Autosaves just before the point of no return and before the final encounter are available, allowing you to replay these sections and make different choices to experience varied story outcomes and endings.

Reloading to a save before the point of no return also lets you revisit earlier regions. This is your chance to complete the map, earn achievements, finish side quests, and collect any items you might have missed. With your upgraded Legendary Quality weapons and gear, returning to an early region like Dawnshore can be a thrilling experience.

And that's what awaits you after beating *Avowed*.

*Avowed is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.*
