Unlocking the Lady Vengeance: A Divinity: Original Sin 2 Guide
Escaping Fort Joy and removing your Source collar in Divinity: Original Sin 2 leaves you aboard the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance. Your goal: get this unconventional vessel sailing. This isn't a simple matter of using the helm; you'll need to solve a puzzle scattered across the ship.
I. Investigating the Deceased:
Begin by examining the bodies of the magisters and gheists on deck. A Sodden Diary, found on one of the magisters, provides a password. You can also obtain the password via a skill check at the northern Stateroom Door. Crucially, you'll also need a Strange Gem, found later.
A magic mirror nearby allows unlimited respeccing of your character and companions – useful for skill checks.
II. Accessing the Portside Stateroom:
Use the password from the diary (or skill check) and the Strange Gem (obtained from Bishop Alexander's regalia after interacting with him in the ship's quarters) to unlock the Portside Stateroom door.
III. Locating the Ancient Empire Songbook:
Inside Magister Dallis' cabin (accessed via the Stateroom), you'll find Tarquin and the Ancient Empire Songbook on a pedestal. Read it to learn the song. It's advisable to speak with all NPCs before proceeding, as interactions become unavailable once the ship sets sail.
IV. Setting Sail:
On the deck, interact with Malady. After informing her of the songbook, head west to the dragon figurine. Sing the song to the figurine to activate the Lady Vengeance. Be prepared for a challenging battle with powerful magisters immediately afterward. Ensure your party is well-equipped and has sufficient companions.
