Vote Now for Your Favorite Like a Dragon 20th Anniversary Merchandise! (Until March 21, 2025)
Get ready to celebrate! Like a Dragon (LAD) turns 20 in December 2025, and Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studios is kicking off the festivities with a unique fan-voting project. You get to choose which in-game items will be transformed into real-world merchandise!
Over 100 items are up for grabs, including everything from lingerie and incense to mahjong tiles, a karaoke microphone, a luxury lighter, special 20th-anniversary sake, themed pillows, Kiryu's iconic dragon mask, and many more nods to the series' rich history. The winning item, as announced on the RGG voting website, will be produced and released within the next two years.
The voting period runs from February 8, 2025, to March 21, 2025. You can vote once per day for your favorite item. Following the voting period, a separate survey will determine the final design of the winning merchandise.
Could More Yakuza Remakes Be on the Horizon for the 20th Anniversary?
RGG Studio first hinted at its 20th-anniversary plans in a December 8, 2024, Twitter (X) post (during their 19th-anniversary celebration). In the video, Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama expressed his deep gratitude to fans for their unwavering support.
The 20th-anniversary celebration begins with the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 20, 2025. Yokoyama also teased various events and announcements leading up to the big 20th anniversary, including the ongoing merchandise voting project.
While there haven’t been any further announcements since the initial video, the studio's 10th anniversary offers a potential clue. That year, RGG announced several remakes, resulting in the release of Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami. This precedent fuels fan anticipation for exciting announcements during the 20th-anniversary celebrations.

RGG Studio revealed the PC requirements for LAD: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 10, 2025, via Twitter (X). The recommended graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or equivalent, making the game accessible to most modern gaming PCs.
With releases also planned for previous-gen consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One), the PC requirements are remarkably approachable. RGG Studios also confirmed Steam Deck verification.
SEGA recently released a story trailer on YouTube, showcasing Majima's high-seas adventure, narrated by the charismatic Pirate King Raymond Law (voiced and portrayed by wrestling superstar Samoa Joe).
