Dungeons & Dragons Live Action Netflix Series in the Works, Could Launch a ‘D&D Universe’

by Olivia Feb 25,2025

Netflix is developing a live-action Dungeons & Dragons series based on the Forgotten Realms setting, according to Deadline. The project is a significant undertaking for Netflix, described as one of their largest fantasy TV investments. Shawn Levy (known for Deadpool and Wolverine), alongside writer-showrunner Drew Crevello (WeCrashed) and Hasbro, are spearheading the production. The Forgotten Realms setting has previously been featured in the film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and the video game Baldur's Gate 3. While Netflix and Hasbro haven't officially commented, the pilot script is reportedly complete, and a successful series could potentially launch a broader D&D universe on the platform.
