What Energy Crystals Do in R.E.P.O. and How to Get More

by Jason Mar 18,2025

Conquering a level in the co-op game R.E.P.O. is a significant achievement. After your victory, the Service Station awaits, offering a chance to purchase essential upgrades, including Energy Crystals. But what exactly do these crystals do, and how do you get more? Let's find out.

What Are Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.?

These shiny yellow crystals, found at the Service Station after completing the first level, are a valuable investment, costing between $7,000 and $9,000. Early in the game, when the difficulty is lower, they're usually cheaper, so stock up if you've had a successful run!

Purchasing an Energy Crystal adds an Energy Container to your R.E.P.O. truck. This container is crucial for recharging tools like the Valuables or Extraction Tracker. Simply place your tool in the bin next to the container (marked with a yellow lightning bolt) to begin recharging. This saves you money on replacements and keeps your team ready for the next Clown, Gnome, or Shadow Child.

Crystals automatically appear in the container upon purchase. However, they aren't limitless. Each crystal recharges roughly four battery sections of an item, and a full container requires six crystals. Once depleted, crystals break and need replacing.

How To Get More Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.

Energy Crystals are only available at the Service Station, and they can be expensive. To ensure you have enough funds, diligently collect valuables throughout each level. Remember, only completing a level with sufficient funds will trigger the Taxman's trip to the Service Station.

In particularly challenging levels, prioritizing survival and securing enough money to clear the stage might be wiser than risking everything for more loot.

And there you have it – a comprehensive guide to Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.

R.E.P.O. is available now on PC.
