How To Equip the Sensor Backpack and Scan Mysterious Energy Signatures in Fortnite Chapter 6

by Alexander Mar 17,2025

Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2's Story Quests are back after a brief hiatus for the Outlaw Keycard Community Quest, but Stage 4 presents a significant challenge. This guide explains how to equip the Sensor Backpack and scan Mysterious Energy Signatures.

Finding the Sensor Backpack in Fortnite

Stage 3 of the Wanted: Midas Quests requires opening an Outlaw Chest, necessitating reaching Rare rarity with the Outlaw Keycard. This can be time-consuming, involving numerous vault robberies, guard eliminations, and gold expenditure. Once the chest is accessible, the challenging Stage 4 begins.

The "Sensor Backpack" isn't found in chests or on the ground. It's located behind the wolf statue south of Crime City, near the Secret Wolf Pack area. Interact with the case on the ground to equip the backpack.

With the Sensor Backpack equipped, locate three Mysterious Energy Signatures near the backpack's location. Head up the mountain; three areas with exclamation points mark their positions. Interact with the glowing lights at each location.

While relatively close together, interacting with all three is necessary to complete the quest and earn XP. Be cautious, as other players completing Outlaw Quests may engage you. Loot up before heading to the mountain for better preparedness.

After completing the Sensor Backpack challenge, proceed to Stage 5, which involves stealing the Mask-Making Book from the Mask Maker's Hideout. Using a vehicle can significantly aid in completing this stage efficiently.

Fortnite is available on various platforms, including Meta Quest 2 and 3.
