Three main Essence categories exist: Emotions, Living Things, and Objects. Each has a thematic link, influencing Sim satisfaction through build alignment. Most act as physical objects or custom paint components in Build Mode.

Town Essences

Early-game Essence hunting is confined to your town, with areas like the Forest and Desert initially inaccessible. The Crowbar tool (obtained via town level-ups) unlocks prospecting caves, providing access to more Essences.
