Marvel Contest of Champions is set to introduce a thrilling array of updates and new champions in April, headlined by the arrival of Spider-Woman. Here’s an in-depth look at what's coming to the game:
The Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions
Spider-Woman, known as Jessica Drew, was exposed to uranium as a child, which led to severe illness. In a desperate bid to save her, her father, a brilliant geneticist, conducted an experimental treatment using a concoction of spider DNA. After a prolonged recovery, Jessica not only overcame the adverse effects but also gained extraordinary spider-like powers, transforming her into Spider-Woman. Players can add this new champion to their roster starting April 17th.
Before Spider-Woman's debut, Marvel Contest of Champions will introduce Lumatrix on April 9th. This assassin, crafted by the Founders, is designed for stealth and lethal efficiency, utilizing his unique light-based powers to infiltrate and eliminate targets.
What Else Is New?
The storyline advances with Act 9 Chapter 2: Inquisition, where Carina faces severe injuries after encountering Ouroborus's forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom aligns with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of the Chronoserpent, introducing a new villain, Lotan, into the mix.
A new Event Quest, Spy Games, will run from April 9th to May 7th. In this quest, Black Widow investigates the enigmatic Eidols and enlists Spider-Woman's help to unravel the mystery.
Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest with Dark Bounties, challenging players to hunt down champions on her hit list and claim their rewards.
The Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector makes a comeback, offering players a chance to battle through with their strongest Saga champions for valuable rewards such as Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
