More gameplay and release date of DOOM: The Dark Ages is finally revealed

Bethesda and id Software unveiled a new DOOM: The Dark Ages gameplay demo at the Xbox showcase, confirming earlier leaks of a May 15th release date.

Transporting players to a medieval hell, The Dark Ages offers a distinct gameplay experience from DOOM: Eternal. Forget the frantic parkour; this iteration emphasizes grounded combat, transforming the player into a brutal, tank-like demon-slaying machine. The focus shifts to strategic use of a powerful arsenal, rather than constant aerial maneuvers.

Central to this brutal efficiency are a shield and mace, providing new tactical options. For the first time in the series, players will command a giant mech to decimate smaller demons. Furthermore, the campaign will include the thrilling opportunity to ride a dragon.

A customizable difficulty system allows players to fine-tune the challenge, adjusting enemy damage and other parameters to their preferred level of intensity.
