The much-anticipated GTA 6 trailer has finally dropped, and if you missed it, we've meticulously analyzed all the secrets and details it contains. Unfortunately, fans will need to mark their calendars for May 26, 2026, to dive into the adventures of Lucia and Jason. While we eagerly await the release, let's take a nostalgic journey through the extensive catalog of Rockstar games and have some fun ranking them.
Since its inception in 1998, Rockstar Games has crafted over 30 titles, giving us iconic series like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which of these gems shines the brightest? For clarity, this list focuses solely on games developed by Rockstar, excluding titles like LA Noire or Max Payne 2, which they've published but not developed. I've created a personal tier list based on my enjoyment over the years, using an IGN Tier List. Here's a glimpse at my rankings:
Unsurprisingly, Red Dead Redemption 2 tops my list as my all-time favorite, securing an easy S-tier spot. Joining it are its predecessor and GTA 5, both groundbreaking in the cinematic open-world genre. I also have a soft spot for Max Payne 3 with its mesmerizing bullet time sequences, and GTA San Andreas, a game I played at a perhaps too young an age. At the bottom of the barrel in the D-tier, you'll find games like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!, which are largely forgotten and unloved by the gaming community.
If you disagree with my rankings, perhaps believing that Vice City outshines GTA 4, why not create your own tier list? You can compare your S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the entire IGN community.
