GTA 6 Trailer 2 Boosts Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together" on Spotify

by Adam May 16,2025

The Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together" has experienced a monumental surge in Spotify streams after its inclusion in the new Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, which debuted just yesterday.

In the mere two hours following the trailer's premiere, global Spotify streams for the 1986 hit skyrocketed by an astonishing 182,000%. Although Spotify's numbers have not been updated since yesterday, "Hot Together" currently stands at just over 250,000 streams. It's anticipated that these figures will see a significant increase in the coming days.

"Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else," remarked Sulinna Ong, Spotify's Global Head of Editorial. "Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans, both new and established, connecting with an iconic track in this way."

PlayIt's been 24 hours since Rockstar Games unveiled its latest glimpse of GTA 6, and the trailer has already garnered an impressive **77.7 million views on YouTube** at the time of this article's publication. The surge in popularity for "Hot Together" is remarkable yet not surprising. When the first trailer for Rockstar's latest game was revealed in late 2023, featuring Tom Petty's "Love Is A Long Road," it too experienced a massive boost in Spotify streams. This led to a flurry of fan theories about the song's connection to GTA 6’s storyline, although no such speculation has surfaced for "Hot Together" – at least, not yet.

Rockstar is providing eager fans with plenty of great music to enjoy while they await the (recently delayed) GTA 6 release on May 26, 2026. In the meantime, delve into some of the best Trailer 2 fan theories we’ve seen so far, and explore our list of 89 details Rockstar tucked into the video.
