In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the "Canker" side quest is an engaging early mission that you can unlock after completing "The Jaunt." This quest not only offers a chance to snag a mace but also some extra Groschen, making it a worthwhile endeavor. Here's a detailed guide on how to successfully complete the "Canker" quest.

Pick Up the Canker Side Quest

To initiate the "Canker" quest, you'll need to have a conversation with Gules at Semine. The ideal time to pick up this quest is during the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes, where you can find Gules enjoying a drink. However, if you're eager to start earlier, you can find Gules on patrol in Semine. Engage him in a conversation about his past with a band of bandits and express your willingness to help him eliminate them. Canker, a former member of this group, becomes your first target.

Find and Kill Canker

Once you accept the quest, Canker's location will be marked on your map, situated north of Nebakov Mill. Be cautious as the path to this location is often patrolled by bandits who may attempt to ambush you. You can choose to sneak past them, engage in combat, or simply flee. While these random bandits are generally not difficult to defeat, it's best to avoid unnecessary fights to conserve your health for the upcoming battle.

Canker's camp is nestled in the mountains, and it's easy to overlook as you need to navigate through a narrow gap to reach it, similar to accessing the Hermit's house during the "Wedding Crashers" quest. Prepare for combat before entering, as you'll face several bandits alongside Canker. The bandits may attempt to flee depending on the order in which you engage them, but it's crucial to eliminate most of them. Fortunately, Canker will not run away, ensuring you can complete the quest by killing him.

Finish the Quest and Return to Gules

After defeating Canker and his companions, loot his body to collect the Light Mace, which serves as proof of your success. Feel free to take any additional items you find valuable. Once you have the mace, return to Gules in Semine to complete the "Canker" quest.

Upon completing the "Canker" quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll need to wait a full in-game day before you can proceed with the next quest involving Gules' former bandit associates. After the day has passed, speak with Gules again to start the "Handsome Charlie" quest.
