Master the Dual Outfit Technique in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered!
This guide details how to combine the benefits of two outfits in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, leveraging its transmog feature to enhance your gameplay. Note that this is exclusive to the Remastered version; the original game doesn't support this functionality.
Remastered Version Required
The dual outfit method relies on the transmog feature introduced in a recent patch for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. This allows you to visually wear one outfit while retaining the stats and effects of another.
Outfit Requirements
This technique has limitations. While your primary outfit can be any you choose, your secondary outfit (used for its visual appearance via transmog) must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits from the Frozen Wilds DLC:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game+ only)
Access to these outfits requires progressing into the Frozen Wilds DLC, but completing the base game isn't necessary.
Acquiring Banuk Werak Outfits
Banuk Werak Runner
Reach the Frozen Wilds area by defeating the new machine encountered there. Upgrade your gear or lower the difficulty if needed. Locate a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue merchant icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resource | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
Obtain the Banuk Werak Chieftain (the superior option) by completing the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Consider lowering the difficulty if you find it challenging. The Adept version is acquired similarly but is only available in New Game+.
Combining Outfit Effects
Here's how to combine the effects:
- Equip your desired outfit – the one providing the stats you want. Enhance its stats with Weaves if necessary.
- Use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. These outfits don't offer additional stats but provide a crucial passive auto-healing effect after taking damage.
This strategy lets you retain your chosen outfit's stats while gaining the auto-heal from the Banuk Werak outfit. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept versions offer significantly faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with an outfit like the Shield Weaver makes you incredibly resilient.
