Long-awaited crossplay functionality is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3 with the upcoming Patch 8! A stress test will give select players early access to this and other features. Learn how to sign up and what to expect.
When is Cross-Play Arriving?
While a firm release date for Patch 8 is yet to be announced, the Patch 8 Stress Test, launching in January 2025, will allow a limited number of players to experience crossplay. This early access period will help Larian Studios identify and fix bugs before the full release.
How to Sign Up for the Patch 8 Stress Test
To participate in the stress test and potentially play Baldur's Gate 3 with friends across different platforms (PC, PlayStation, Xbox), register via Larian's Stress Test Registration form. You'll need a Larian account. The registration process is simple and quick, requiring basic information like your preferred gaming platform.
Important Note: Registration doesn't guarantee selection. Those chosen will receive an email with further instructions. Selected participants can offer feedback through dedicated forms and Discord.
The stress test also focuses on mod compatibility. Mod users and creators are encouraged to participate to help ensure smooth functionality after the patch's official release.
Remember: All players in your group must be part of the stress test to utilize crossplay during this period. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the wider release in 2025.
Baldur's Gate 3's enduring popularity and strong community make the addition of crossplay a highly anticipated event, promising to connect even more players in the world of Faerûn.
