Activist groups have targeted Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 following the discovery of subpoenas within the game, sparking a campaign to cancel the project.
The controversy gained traction after online discussions regarding KCD 2's ban in Saudi Arabia fueled speculation about the game's content and alleged "progressive" themes. This led to attacks on the developers across social media platforms, with attempts to boycott the game and discourage support for Warhorse Studios.
Warhorse Studios' PR manager, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, responded to the allegations, urging the public to trust the developers and not to believe everything found online.
Stolz-Zwilling confirmed that review codes would be distributed in the coming days, following the game's "gold master" status achieved in early December. These codes are expected to be released approximately four weeks prior to launch, allowing streamers and reviewers ample time to prepare their content.
Interestingly, initial "final previews," based on sections of the review build, are anticipated just a week after the review codes are sent out.
