The phenomenal success of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* continues to soar, with the game now surpassing 2 million copies sold in under two weeks. Developer Warhorse Studios celebrated this achievement on Twitter, dubbing it a "triumph" much like they did when the game hit the 1 million sales mark just a day after its launch.
This sequel to the medieval Europe action role-playing game, which hit the shelves on February 4 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, is proving to be a blockbuster for Warhorse Studios. Last week, Embracer, the parent company of Warhorse Studios, shared that *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* had performed exceptionally well on Steam, reaching over 250,000 peak concurrent players. To put this into perspective, the original *Kingdom Come: Deliverance* peaked at 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago.
It's important to remember that the total peak concurrent player count for *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* is likely even higher, considering its availability on consoles as well. Unfortunately, player numbers from Sony and Microsoft remain undisclosed.
Embracer, through its subsidiary Plaion, highlighted the initial success of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* not just in terms of player and critic reception but also in its performance. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors praised the dedication and hard work of both Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver.
"It is our strong belief that the game will continue to generate substantial revenues over the coming years, highlighting the exceptional quality, immersion, and appeal of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*," Wingefors stated. He further mentioned that Warhorse Studios has a robust roadmap planned, including updates and new content over the next 12 months, promising a continuously evolving experience for the community.
"We are immensely proud of the teams involved in the successful release of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, which has significantly outperformed our expectations so far," Wingefors added.
Looking ahead, *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*'s post-launch roadmap features three expansions set for release in 2025. Spring will bring free updates including a Barbers feature with additional customization options, Hardcore Mode, and Horse Racing. Summer will see the first paid content drop, *Brushes with Death*, where players join protagonist Henry as he assists an enigmatic artist with a shadowy past. The autumn expansion, *Legacy of the Forge*, delves into Henry’s past through his adoptive father Martin’s history. Finally, winter's *Mysteria Ecclesia* sends Henry on a covert mission to navigate the intricate dynamics of the Sedlec Monastery.
