Revealed during Sony's State of Play 2025 showcase, Lies of P: Overture, a prequel DLC expansion, is slated for a Summer 2025 release across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. A gameplay trailer offers a glimpse into what awaits players.

Building upon the success of the critically acclaimed Lies of P (IGN awarded it an 8/10), this action RPG prequel delves into the origins of the Puppet Frenzy. The core gameplay retains the Souls-like mechanics that defined the original, but with new environments, bosses, and a mysterious guide character to navigate the narrative.

Lies of P: Overture - Key Details:

Lies of P: Overture serves as a dramatic prequel, transporting players to Krat, the city in its final days before the devastating Puppet Frenzy. Players assume the role of Geppetto's puppet, guided by a Legendary Stalker, uncovering hidden stories and confronting the secrets that shaped the main game's events.

Setting & Story:

The narrative unfolds in Krat's twilight, a blend of Belle Époque charm and impending doom. The discovery of a mysterious artifact catapults the player back in time, tasked with exploring the city's past and uncovering the truth behind the tragedy. Player choices will have consequences, impacting both the past and the present timeline.

Key Features:

  • Explore Krat's Untold History: Discover previously unseen locations within Krat, ranging from opulent mansions to haunting ruins, encountering new enemies and uncovering hidden secrets.
  • Meet the Legendary Stalker: Team up with Lea, the Legendary Stalker, a key figure whose quest for vengeance intertwines with the unfolding narrative.
  • Master New Combat Styles: A new arsenal of weapons and Legion Arms allows for diverse combat strategies to overcome challenging enemies and bosses.
  • Intense Boss Battles: Engage in high-stakes encounters with powerful new bosses, testing players' skills and resolve.

Round8 Studio's game director, Jiwon Choi, expressed excitement about exploring the rich history of the Lies of P universe, thanking fans for their patience. Publisher Neowiz previously hinted at this DLC and confirmed plans for a sequel. The original Lies of P achieved remarkable success, selling over one million copies within a month of its September 18, 2023 launch.
