Magic: The Gathering - 2 New Cards from Aetherdrift

First up is the Cloudspire Coordinator, an uncommon creature that encapsulates the essence of Aetherdrift's red-white color pairing. This card is a nod to the Cloudspire Racing Team from the plane of Kylem, which was first introduced in the 2v2-focused set, Battlebond, back in 2018. With a power of 3, Cloudspire Coordinator can crew vehicles directly, and its activated ability lets you create Pilot token creatures to crew them for you. This makes it a versatile choice for red-white decks in an Aetherdrift draft.
Next, we reveal the rare enchantment, Count on Luck. This 3-mana card, with its all-red-pip casting cost, embodies the thrill of the race. At the start of each of your turns, you exile the top card of your library and can play it during that turn, providing a steady stream of "impulse draw." This feature is particularly valuable in a mono-red deck, giving you extra cards to utilize as long as you can play them immediately. It's a classic case of "use it or lose it."
We also have a special look at Count on Luck in its extended-art and First-Place Foil versions. The extended art expands beyond the usual card frame, offering a wider view of the art. Meanwhile, the First-Place Foils introduce a dazzling new element to Aetherdrift. These golden cards are exclusive to the randomized buy-a-box promo packs included with every box of Aetherdrift. All the rares in the set, along with 10 full-art lands, will receive this prestigious treatment.
Aetherdrift will hit the streets, both in paper and online formats, on February 14, with prereleases starting on February 7. To dive deeper into the set's mechanics, click here.
