Marvel SNAP's initial Spotlight Cache card for 2025, Victoria Hand, is an Ongoing card that enhances the power of cards generated within your hand. While often categorized as a card-generation archetype staple, Victoria Hand surprisingly excels in discard decks as well. This guide presents two effective Victoria Hand decks, one for each archetype, to help you integrate her into the current SNAP meta.
Victoria Hand (2–3)
Ongoing: Cards created in your hand gain +2 Power.
Series: Five (Ultra Rare)
Season: Dark Avengers
Release: January 7, 2025
The Best Deck for Victoria Hand
Victoria Hand synergizes perfectly with a Devil Dinosaur card-generation deck. To optimize this combo, combine Victoria and Devil Dinosaur with: Quinjet, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Cosmo, The Collector, Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl.
Flexible card slots (Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Frigga) can be substituted with Iron Patriot, Mystique, and Speed.
Victoria Hand Deck Synergies
- Victoria Hand boosts cards added to your hand by card generators.
- Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl are your card generators. (Frigga and Moon Girl also duplicate key cards for added buffs or disruption.)
- Quinjet reduces the cost of generated cards.
- The Collector's power increases with each generated card.
- Cosmo acts as a protective tech card.
- Devil Dinosaur is your primary win condition, ideally played after Moon Girl or with numerous generated cards in hand.
Reports suggest Victoria Hand might buff cards generated in the opponent's hand or cards that change locations. Whether this is a bug or intended functionality remains unclear. If not a bug, the card text requires clarification. This warrants attention when using Victoria Hand decks.
Effective Victoria Hand Gameplay
When playing a Victoria Hand deck, remember:
- Balance card generation and energy management. A full hand maximizes Devil Dinosaur's potential, but you need energy to generate cards and utilize Victoria's effect. Efficient energy use is crucial; sometimes skipping turns to maintain a full hand is more important than filling the board.
- Use joker cards strategically. Victoria Hand decks generate random cards. Use these strategically as decoys to mislead your opponent.
- Protect your Ongoing lane. Opponents often target Victoria Hand with tech cards like Enchantress. Play Devil Dinosaur and Victoria in the same lane (creating an Ongoing setup) and protect them with Cosmo.
Alternative Discard Deck for Victoria Hand
Victoria Hand is also finding success in refined discard decks. Pair her with: Helicarrier, MODOK, Morbius, Scorn, Blade, Apocalypse, Swarm, Corvus Glaive, Colleen Wing, Lady Sif, and The Collector.
Countering Victoria Hand
Super Skrull effectively counters Victoria Hand. Since many players use Doctor Doom 2099 decks, Skrull is a strong tech card against both Victoria Hand and Doom 2099 lineups.
Other counters include Shadow King (removes Victoria's buffs in one lane) and Enchantress (removes all Ongoing effects). Valkyrie can also disrupt power distribution in critical lanes.
Is Victoria Hand Worth It?
Victoria Hand is a valuable card. Whether acquired through the Spotlight Cache or purchased with Tokens, she offers a strong return on investment. While somewhat reliant on randomness, her permanent buffs allow for consistent deck building. Her compatibility with multiple archetypes (card-generation and discard) makes her a highly desirable card for many players.
