Getting Started with Demon’s Hand
Before diving in, ensure your *League of Legends* client is updated to the latest version. Once ready, click the Play button and navigate to the game type menu. Select “Demon’s Hand” to begin. You'll be introduced to the mode’s story before jumping into your first round of gameplay.
In the interface, your hand appears as the bottom row of cards. At the bottom right, you can view your current health, coin balance, and crit chance percentage. Above that, you’ll see the Sigil box—though you start with none, you can activate up to six Sigils at once. Unlike traditional roguelikes, your health doesn’t reset after each battle. Instead, look for tent locations on the map to restore a portion of your health when possible.
The enemy card is displayed at the top of the screen, showing its health in the bottom right corner and its attack power in the bottom left. To the left of the enemy card, you’ll see an attack counter indicating how many hands you can play before the enemy strikes back. On the left edge of the screen, there's a book icon that lists all playable poker hands along with their base damage values during standard rounds.
How to Play Demon’s Hand in League of Legends
To deal damage to enemies, you must play valid poker hands. Each hand has a unique name within Demon’s Hand, but they align closely with standard poker rankings. The most powerful hand is The Demon’s Hand, equivalent to a Royal Flush. Below is a breakdown of the available hands and their corresponding poker terms:
- Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
- Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
- Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
- Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
- Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
- March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
- Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
- Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
- Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
- The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)
In addition to the base damage, the numerical value of each card contributes to the total damage dealt. If an enemy has a special ability that nullifies a specific suit, those cards will appear crossed out. While you can still play them, their number value won't add to the overall damage output.
Enhance Your Strategy with Sigils
Sigils are a key part of the Demon’s Hand experience and can be purchased during store phases marked by coins on the map. You earn coins by defeating enemies and then use them to buy various Sigils. Each Sigil provides a unique effect, which you can preview by hovering over it either in the store or during gameplay. Some Sigils boost specific hands—like increasing damage from Dyads—while others grant benefits such as extra turns between attacks or reduced incoming damage.
That wraps up our guide on how to play the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If this minigame isn’t your cup of tea, don’t worry—keep an eye out for the upcoming April Fools’ skins for a fun twist on Summoner’s Rift action.
