Mastering the Primitive Challenge in Phasmophobia: Weekly Tips

by Jonathan May 14,2025

Diving into the *Phasmophobia* Primitive weekly challenge might feel like a trip back to the Stone Age, but unlike our prehistoric ancestors, we have to contend with ghostly apparitions rather than just saber-toothed tigers. The challenge? Complete your ghost-hunting investigations without any electronics. It's a tall order, but with the right strategies, it's definitely doable.

The Primitive Challenge is one of the toughest weekly challenges in *Phasmophobia*. You're tasked with identifying the ghost and wrapping up investigations without any electronic gadgets. This means you'll need to lean heavily on your intuition and understanding of ghost behaviors.

Your mission takes place at 10 Ridgeview Court, a house-style map with a relatively straightforward layout, making it easier to navigate and find safe spots. Remember, you need to successfully complete three investigations to fully conquer this challenge.

Tips & Tricks To Complete Primitive Challenge in Phasmophobia

Navigating the Primitive Challenge requires you to adapt to a unique set of rules and conditions. First off, say goodbye to your usual electronic equipment. No flashlights, no DOTs Projectors, no Video Cameras—everything electronic is off the table.

You'll also notice the absence of Sanity Medication, but don't worry, you start with a full Sanity meter to help shield you from the ghosts' antics. Your arsenal includes two Tier 1 Crucifixes for preventing ghost hunts, Tier 2 Firelights, and a full set of Tier 1 Incense for additional protection.

For evidence gathering, you're equipped with two Tier 3 Ghost Writing books and two Tier 1 UV "glowstick" lights, which double as your light source. You also get two Tier 1 thermometers to check for freezing temperatures.

With such limited tools, you'll need to rely on your knowledge of ghost behaviors. Each ghost type in *Phasmophobia* has its own distinct traits that can help you identify it, even without traditional evidence. Our no-evidence cheat sheet can be a valuable resource here.

Ouija Board in Phasmophobia

Your first step should be to locate the ghost as quickly as possible. Without the ability to turn on the lights (no fuse box access), your sanity is at greater risk in the dark. Fortunately, the ghost in this challenge is more active, making it easier to find.

For a more daring approach, use the Ouija Board found in the laundry room to the left of the dining area on the first floor. Ask the ghost about its favorite room to pinpoint its location. Be cautious, though; this will cost you 50% of your sanity, and remember to say "Goodbye" to avoid triggering a Cursed Hunt. This method is especially useful in group settings for added safety.
