Nintendo has officially delayed the retail launch of the Alarmo in Japan due to stock shortages. Dive deeper to learn about this development and what lies ahead for the Alarmo.
Alarmo General Sale in Japan Postponed
Inventory Does Not Meet Demand
Nintendo Japan has announced a delay in the general sale of the Nintendo Alarmo alarm clock to an unspecified future date. Initially set for February 2025, the launch has been pushed back due to production and inventory challenges. As it stands, there's no indication if this will impact stock availability in other countries, where a public launch is planned for March 2025.
In response, Nintendo has introduced a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. Pre-orders are slated to open in mid-December, with shipments expected in early February 2025. The exact start date for pre-orders will be announced soon.
Nintendo’s Very Own Alarm Clock
Launched in October, the Alarmo is an innovative gaming-themed alarm clock that features iconic sounds from beloved Nintendo franchises including Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with plans for more sounds via updates.
Available initially in Nintendo's official stores worldwide and online for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, the Alarmo's overwhelming popularity led Nintendo to halt further online orders and implement a lottery system. The alarm clock sold out completely at Nintendo stores in Japan and the Nintendo store in New York.
Keep an eye out for further updates on pre-orders and the announcement of general sales dates!
