"Nintendo Today App: A New Hub for Fans' News and Content"

by Lillian Jun 18,2025

Nintendo Today is the latest official app from the iconic Super Mario Bros. company, designed to deliver Nintendo news directly to players in real time—faster and more efficiently than ever before.

During the closing moments of the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, legendary video game creator Shigeru Miyamoto unveiled this exciting new initiative. The Nintendo Today app is now available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, offering a host of features tailored for dedicated Nintendo fans.

This all-in-one digital hub functions as a dynamic daily calendar and real-time news feed, ensuring that players stay informed about the latest happenings across the Nintendo universe. As Miyamoto explained, following next week’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct broadcast, users will be able to open the Nintendo Today app to access every update, with fresh content being added daily thereafter.

Unlike traditional Nintendo Direct presentations, this format allows fans to stay engaged with ongoing updates—even on days without major announcements. Each day brings a new greeting from beloved characters like Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing favorites, adding a personal touch to your daily login.

Beyond breaking news, the app also delivers exclusive Nintendo-themed content straight to your fingertips. During the Direct presentation, examples included the Pikmin 4 comic “Too Stuck to Pluck” and “Pearls of Wisdom,” a charming Animal Crossing feature narrated by Pascal the otter.

While Nintendo Today doesn’t reveal a groundbreaking title like a new Zelda or Super Smash Bros. entry, it serves as a valuable additional channel for fans to stay connected and informed between major events.
