PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Slashed to $99.99 for a Year, But Only for New or Expired Members

by Allison Apr 07,2025

Sony has introduced an exciting new discount for PlayStation Plus members in the US and select European countries, offering a golden opportunity for those with expired memberships or new subscribers to join at a reduced rate. This promotion, available until February 24, presents an unprecedented deal where both the **Extra and Premium tiers are priced at $99.99 for a full year**. This pricing structure makes the Premium tier, which includes all the benefits of Extra plus access to classic games, game trials, and cloud streaming, an exceptionally compelling choice. If you're eligible, opting for Premium at the same price as Extra is a no-brainer, just be sure to cancel the auto-renewal to avoid a higher bill after the promotional period.

Here's a breakdown of the discounts:

  • PS Plus Premium – 12-month subscription for $99.99 (normally $159.99, a 37% discount)
  • PS Plus Extra – 12-month subscription for $99.99 (normally $134.99, a 25% discount)

It's important to note that this offer is exclusively for users whose PlayStation Plus memberships have **expired**. Active subscribers cannot stack this deal onto their current plan, and cancelling your membership now won't qualify you for the discount. If your current PS Plus plan is set to expire after February 24, you won't be able to take advantage of this offer.

The promotion is limited to **North America and select European countries**, with the UK and other regions excluded. Additionally, the **Essential tier is not included** in this promotion, aligning with Sony's strategy of focusing discounts on higher-tier memberships. While Essential members can upgrade at a prorated cost, there's no direct discount on 12-month Essential plans.

This deal coincides with the announcement of February's PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, featuring major titles like *Star Wars Jedi: Survivor*, *TopSpin 2K25*, and *Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1*. Premium members will also enjoy access to new classic titles such as *Patapon 3* and *Dropship: United Peace Force*.

PlayStation Plus Premium is down to $99.99 for 12-months until February 24.
