Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is kicking off the new year with festivities, including the New Year's 2025 event, the Fidough Fetch event, and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day. Before all that, however, players can enjoy the Eggs-pedition Access, running throughout January as part of the Dual Destiny season. This $4.99 in-app purchase unlocks numerous benefits for Pokémon hunting until January 31st, including increased Gift storage and daily limits. Gift acquisition from PokéStops also receives a boost.

New Year's 2025 Event Details:

The New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While lacking new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, the event still offers exciting features. Expect increased wild spawns of festive Pokémon like a ribboned Jigglypuff, a New Year's Hoothoot, and a party-hat-wearing Wurmple—all with boosted Shiny rates. Bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Raids feature a snowflake-capped Pikachu (Tier One) and party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also with increased Shiny chances. Field Research and PokéStop Showcases will offer further encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
