Pokémon TCG Pocket Update: Trading Feature Delayed Until Autumn

The launch of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was met with excitement, but it quickly encountered a significant challenge with its trading system. Initially, the trading feature was criticized for its cumbersome Trading Tokens and restrictive trading rules. However, a recent update aims to address these issues and improve the overall trading experience.

The most significant change is the complete removal of Trading Tokens. Now, trading cards of three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity will require Shinedust, a new currency you'll earn by opening booster packs and receiving cards already registered in your Card Dex. If you have existing Trading Tokens, they can be converted into Shinedust, which is also used to obtain flair. The developers have promised further adjustments to Shinedust in upcoming updates, and a new feature will allow you to share cards you're interested in trading directly within the game.

Trading Spaces

As previously discussed, the initial implementation of trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket felt half-hearted. The digital nature of the game necessitates more restrictions than physical trading to prevent abuse, which has been a point of contention. While these changes are a step in the right direction, they won't be implemented until autumn, leaving players waiting through the spring and summer. This slow pace of addressing the issues has left many fans wishing for quicker action from the development team.
