PUBG Mobile World Cup: Stage One Concludes, 12 Teams Advance
The first stage of the PUBG Mobile World Cup, part of the larger Gamers8 esports event in Saudi Arabia, has concluded. The initial field of 24 teams has been whittled down to 12, setting the stage for a thrilling final showdown. With a $3 million prize pool up for grabs, the remaining teams are vying for their share of the winnings.
For those unfamiliar with the Esports World Cup, it's a Gamers8 spin-off designed to showcase popular esports titles in Saudi Arabia. PUBG Mobile is among the games featured, and currently, Alliance leads the pack.
Following this weekend's intense competition, the 12 qualifying teams will have a one-week break before returning for the final stage from July 27th to 28th.
Global Impact:
While the PUBG Mobile World Cup's overall impact on the global fanbase remains to be seen, its presence at the Esports World Cup has generated significant buzz. It's important to note, however, that this event isn't the largest on PUBG Mobile's esports calendar. With other major events planned for 2024, the World Cup's prominence might be somewhat eclipsed.
Nevertheless, the action continues! On July 23rd and 24th, the 12 eliminated teams will compete in the Survival Stage for a chance to reclaim two coveted spots in the final. This promises to be an incredibly close and exciting competition.
