Gameplay Trailer Showcases Rhythm-Based Combat and Boss Battles
The recently released trailer showcases the core gameplay loop, featuring a dynamic battle against a colossal boss crab. The footage emphasizes Ratatan's unique blend of rhythm game mechanics and side-scrolling action, a hallmark of its predecessor. A key feature highlighted is the online co-op mode, allowing up to four players to engage in massive, 100-character battles.
Developed by Patapon creator Hiroyuki Kotani and featuring music by the original Patapon composer Kemmei Adachi, Ratatan's Kickstarter campaign, launched in 2023, successfully surpassed its console launch stretch goal, securing its release on multiple platforms.
