Initially released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Resident Evil 6 received a remastered edition in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This new listing strongly suggests an upcoming release optimized for current-gen consoles, likely including PlayStation 5.

Interestingly, the game's genre description has shifted. Previous versions were categorized as "third-person shooters," while the new ESRB entry labels it "survival horror." This subtle change hints at potential alterations, though specifics remain undisclosed. Further details are anticipated in an official announcement.

Beyond this potential remaster, fans eagerly await news of Resident Evil 9, rumored to be set four years after the events of Resident Evil Village.
