Reviver: First Butterfly sees the time-based narrative game finally arrive on iOS

by Daniel Jan 18,2025

Reviver: Butterfly, the charming indie title, finally flutters onto iOS and Android! Initially slated for a Winter 2024 release, it's arriving slightly later than anticipated, but the wait is almost over. Launching January 17th, Reviver will be available as Reviver: Butterfly on iOS and Reviver: Premium on Android – essentially the same game under different names.

For those unfamiliar, Reviver (as we previously reported in October) casts you as a subtle force of nature, guiding the paths of two destined lovers. You never directly interact with them, yet you subtly influence their lives, witnessing their journey from youth to old age. The game offers a unique and heartwarming premise.

A Name Game

The challenges of releasing indie games on mobile are often underestimated, particularly the hurdle of securing unique app names. Reviver's slightly delayed launch is partly attributed to this naming conflict. Thankfully, it's finally here!

The iOS app store listing reveals a free prologue, allowing potential players to sample the gameplay before committing. Interestingly, mobile players will get to experience Reviver before its official Steam release!
