Before You Get a Mount
Before you can start exploring *Rune Slayer*'s vast world on a mount, there are two prerequisites you must meet:
- Reach Level 20: This shouldn't take more than a few hours (approximately 5-6 hours). By consistently completing Quests, Jobs, and defeating mobs, you'll reach this level swiftly, especially with the help of friends.
- Tame a Pet: The game will introduce you to pet taming through a quest. Here's how it works:
- Find an animal you wish to tame, such as a Deer, Wolf, or Spider.
- Attack it once to get its attention.
- Equip and hold a food item that the animal enjoys (e.g., Apples for Deer, Raw Deer Meat for Wolves).
- A heart will appear above the animal's head, indicating the start of the taming process.
- If the heart grows fully, the animal will collapse and become your pet. If it turns black, you've failed, but don't worry—try with another animal.
Once you've achieved level 20 and successfully tamed a pet, you're ready to proceed to the next step.
Finish the Mount Quest
Upon reaching level 20, head to **Jimmy the Stable Master in Wayshire**. He'll offer you a quest titled **"Jimmy's Delivery"**. Your task is to deliver a package to the Stable Master in Ashenshire. Accept the quest and make your way north through Wayshire's northern entrance. Follow the road and ascend the hill leading to **Greatwood Forest**. Stay focused on your path, as the mobs here can be challenging. Continue north until you reach **Ashenshire**, recognizable by the large houses perched atop towering trees.
In Ashenshire, locate a rope to climb up to the treetops. Once you're up, the first NPC you'll encounter is **Madonna the Stable Master**. She won't have a quest marker, so initiate conversation and select **"I have a package for you."** After handing over the package, return to Wayshire by retracing your steps southward.
Back in Wayshire, speak to **Jimmy the Stable Master** (identified by an exclamation mark) to receive your reward: **A Saddle**. Note that the Saddle won't appear in your inventory to prevent accidental loss or sale.
How to Mount Your Pet in Rune Slayer
After obtaining the Saddle, summon your pet by holding **"T"**. Approach your pet, and you'll see the **"Mount"** option. Press **"E"** to mount your pet. This method works for all mountable pets in *Rune Slayer*.
