Square Enix has released the highly anticipated SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered for mobile and other platforms. Originally hitting the PlayStation in 1999 in Japan and in 2000 in North America and Europe, this remaster revitalizes the classic with enhanced visuals and fresh content.
SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered Is Now Available on Android
SaGa Frontier 2 unfolds in the enchanting world of Sandail, where magic is powered by a mysterious force known as Anima. The narrative primarily follows two protagonists: Gustave, a royal who lacks magical talent, and William Knights, a young adventurer from a lineage of diggers seeking ancient relics called Quells.
Gustave's journey begins when he is exiled from the Kingdom of Finney for his inability to harness Anima, a critical skill in his society. On the other hand, William, or Wil, embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind his parents' demise and the enigmatic relic known as the Egg, which has the power to manipulate minds.
SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered boasts upgraded graphics, now in higher resolution, with beautifully crisp watercolor backgrounds. The user interface has been thoughtfully redesigned to enhance navigation while preserving the game's classic feel.

What Else Is New?
In addition to the visual enhancements, the remaster introduces new storylines that seamlessly integrate with the original plot. The combat system remains a highlight, offering three distinct types of battles: Party Battles, Duels, and Warfare. Party Battles follow the traditional RPG format, while Duels are intense one-on-one confrontations where strategic moves are crucial.
Warfare, on the other hand, involves large-scale strategic engagements, ensuring that combat remains dynamic and engaging rather than repetitive. Each battle type demands a unique approach, keeping the gameplay fresh and exciting.
The remaster also reintroduces the glimmer system from the original game, allowing players to learn new techniques during combat, and the combo mechanic, which rewards players for chaining attacks with their team.
